The Network Transit Display System (NTDS)
The Network Transit Display System (NTDS) for the metro network and train dynamics is an innovative technology that integrates IoT, big data, algorithms, and a graphical interface. It collects load data from train compartments, quickly converts it into congestion levels, and corrects it with ticket data. This data is then transformed into route congestion levels and ultimately compiled into a real-time display of the entire network and train dynamic congestion levels. In addition to providing the control center with an effective way to adjust train operations, passengers can also view and choose the most comfortable route and compartment through the App, enhancing their riding experience. This allows the Taipei Metro Company to continuously improve its service quality, elevating it from “reliability management” to “congestion management” and “comfort management”.
