Automatic Road Information Collection Service for Bus Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems
- Category:Smart Transportation
Status:Complete In order to improve the safety of public transportation, Taipei City has successively tested the incorporation of advanced driver-assistance systems(ADAS) in buses starting in 2018. Currently, there are 3,500 buses in Taipei City equipped with the systems, and the goal is to complete the installation of ADAS on all buses within five years. Domestic operators' ADAS technology used for AI image recognition has gradually matured, which can be provided to transportation authorities for the improvement of transportation and road safety services. The automated recognition technology can improve the efficiency of facility management and road pavement inspections. This project is validated by the collaboration of TMS Technologies and Mobileye from Israel. Mobileye equipment is installed on city buses, which then uses driver recorders, the ADAS and AI image recognition to provide assistance in improving public transportation safety and at the same time conducting road asset management. The validation process is shown as follows: TMS Technologies constructs as an AI digital road information integration platform and incorporates the municipal government information system to conduct road safety and road asset management
