In response to the ongoing pandemic of acute respiratory illness (COVID-19), schools at all levels have continued to apply access control at entrances for students and personnel. However, the practices require a lot of manpower to measure the body temperature one by one, which puts lots of burden on the number of forehead thermometers needed. This project consolidates the body temperature measuring device and student ID scanner into one system which is placed at the access point of the school.

After the students' ID cards are swiped, the back-end system automatically records individual body temperature and presents it to the administrators for review. At the same time, the system verifies the body temperature and school attendance records to ensure that there are no loopholes in the pandemic prevention measures, further improving the efficiency to protect the health of teachers and students.
