Smart Technology to Optimize Patient Care in the Hospice Ward
- Category:Smart Healthcare
Status:Complete Hospices are mainly for patients in the terminal stage of severe illness for which treatment may no longer be effective. Due to patients' physical weakness, long-term stay in bed, and general symptoms caused by illness, it is necessary to provide them with physical, psychological, and spiritual care to help them cope with preparations for the end of their lives. This trial project is a collaboration with Askey to improve the care quality of hospices. Based on the patients’ frequent services requirement, the project provides medical staff with the following improvements: 1. Establish smart fall prevention detection and warning practices to check patients' needs in advance, help to prevent potential falls in time, and provide safe care for patients 2. Improve the calling bell function to enable the system to automatically recognize patients' needs and send back messages to the main care nurse and nursing station. The nurses no longer have to run between rooms and will be able to provide patients with a safe and comfortable ward environment 3. Use smart technology to improve the quality of care in the Hospice Ward to maintain patient safety and environmental safety to achieve the goals of palliative care
