IoT applications have become the trend of smart cities development around the world. How to integrate a large amount of information collected by various types of sensors is the key to demonstrate the value of the Internet of Things. In order to lead the development of smart applications, the Taipei City Government is committed to promoting international standards through working with TSSA (Taiwan Smart City Solutions Alliance) data exchange standard - SIG and MiTAC Information Technology Corp. in introducing international SensorThings API standards, hoping to jointly create the "OGC International Common Standard Platform for Taipei."

"Taipei OGC International Common Standard Platform" is based on experimental data of Open Data in Taipei City. We look forward to incorporating more private resources, allowing companies and cities to quickly build up the Internet of Things technologies and smart city solutions met with international standards. Information could be applied in areas such as smart logistics, smart transportation, smart education, smart medical care, smart fire protection, environmental monitoring, water source monitoring, and home security, enabling smart city solutions to be quickly built up and shared through common standards and integration to demonstrate the greatest value of the Internet of Things.
