- Category:Smart Healthcare
Status:Complete He current emergency rescue system adopts the passive distress model. If the elderly using the service encounter an emergency, they press the distress button they carry to call for help. The service initiates emergency rescue or assistance and dispatches personnel to the elders' residence only if the elderly don’t respond to the service center at a scheduled time every day. However, in the event of an emergency, the elderly may not press the distress button in time and the practice of monitoring only after disconnecting with center for a while which may make people miss the golden time for emergency rescue. This field experiment is a collaboration with Origin Wireless. The use of sensors, a 24-hour monitoring service center and automatic detection for early warning, provides the elderly with a home emergency rescue. If there are abnormal indicators, the elderly will be contacted right away. This is to know their body condition and provide assistance to protect their health. In addition, devices' operating records can be browsed by social workers or nursing staff, making home and telephone interviews more efficient.
