In order to develop smart cities and enhance the competitiveness of the Internet of Things industry, the Taipei City Government, through cooperation with industry players, provides an IoT communications environment where the industry and academia can apply for testing for free, and builds the "Taipei Internet of Things Experimentation Platform" open city as an experimental field. Let various innovative applications of the Internet of Things be implemented in the platform to accelerate the maturation and development of IoT technologies and products in Taiwan.

Sigfox communication network features long-range, low-power, wide-area network features. It is an Ultra Narrow Band. It mainly uses an unlicensed Sub-GHz ISM band and can transmit data below 12 Bytes. Its communication range is densely populated currently covering Taipei City, New Taipei City, Taoyuan, Hsinchu, Taichung, Yunlin, Chiayi, Tainan, Kaohsiung, Taitung, Hualien, Yilan, and other downtown areas.

UnaBiz and AVNET collaborate to import the Sigfox application on the Taipei Internet of Things experimental platform, open 10,000 Sigfox accounts for free, and provide new developers with more new IoT technologies to create unlimited imagination service applications, to meet the needs of the citizens with smart solutions, to create new opportunities for the Internet of Things, and make infinite creativity shine in Taipei City.
