Announcement of Winners for the "2020 Taipei Smart City Innovation Award"!
Since 2016, the Taipei City Government has successfully initiated numerous innovative PoC projects through the "Taipei Smart City Industry Domain Experimentation Plan." These projects are collaborations between private entities and government agencies, aiming to drive innovation and accelerate Taipei's development into a smart city. To recognize the efforts of participating businesses and academic institutions in promoting innovative applications in Taipei, the city government has launched the "2020 Taipei Smart City Innovation Award." This award aims to select outstanding PoC projects from 2020 and present awards as recognition and encouragement. Additionally, the winning companies or academic institutions will be invited to participate in an exhibition to showcase the annual PoC project results and promote the "Taipei Smart City Industry Domain Experimentation Plan," with the hope of encouraging more innovative applications in Taipei's smart city development. The registration period for this event is from the date of announcement until November 30, 2020. Participating entities can apply according to the "2020 Taipei Smart City Innovation Award Application Guidelines" and submit the required documents. The organizing committee will invite a panel of judges to conduct the evaluation, which will include a document review and a presentation review. During the document review, the judging panel will assess the submitted written materials and select 15 shortlisted projects. The presentation review will involve the judging panel evaluating the presentations and oral reports of these 15 shortlisted projects, from which 10 projects will be selected as outstanding and 5 as exceptional, with a maximum of 5 projects in each category. The announcement of the winners is scheduled to be made on the official website of the organizing committee by the end of January 2021. The 5 exceptional projects and 10 outstanding projects will receive awards and rewards of NTD 150,000 and NTD 70,000, respectively. Additionally, the Taipei City Government Information Bureau plans to hold an annual exhibition in the first half of 2021 to showcase the results, providing media exposure opportunities through print or electronic media. Through the "2020 Taipei Smart City Innovation Award" event, we aim to encourage and promote the innovative efforts of participating units in Taipei City Government's smart city development. We hope to foster collaboration between the city government and industry-academia-research communities to build a more livable and sustainable Taipei City. Subsequent communication regarding award-winning matters will be handled by the organizing committee contacting the winning units.
