2018 Smart City Exhibition, Taipei's Smart Innovative Energy Gathering
Smart Innovation Zone Taipei Smart City Project Management Office and Department of Information Technology exhibited innovative applications with the Department of Economic Development at the "Smart Innovation Pavilion" at the Taipei Vision Pavilion at the 2018 Smart City Exhibition including “Beitou Shilin Science and Technology Park Self-driving empirical field”, “AI artificial intelligence application”, “Air Pollution Traceability Monitoring Platform”, “Internet of Things Experiment Platform” and “Taipei English Learning City” ,etc. At the same time, for the first time in this year's largest smart city exhibition, the first time to expose the "Taipei Smart City" ingenuity and beauty of the new logo, the use of the image wall to attract visitors to stop taking pictures. At the same time, Chinese and English propaganda are prepared for reference. The Smart Start-up booth of the Smart City Exhibition is held by Taipei Smart City Project Management Office, which is estimated to attract approximately 100 city representatives and nearly 1,000 VIP guests from home and abroad. The smart city brand Logo and the rich project results were designed to successfully promote the image and eye-catching results of building Taipei Smart City as a “Life Lab”. Autopilot minibus display activity In addition to the Taipei Vision Pavilion, Taipei Smart City Exhibition was able to demonstrate the most eye-catching driverless technology in the smart city simultaneously with foreign exhibitions outside the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, including: 7Starlake self-driving minibus, PEV self-drive tricycle developed by MIT, and self-driving tour buses developed by National Taiwan University for the benefit of VIPs and manufacturers at home and abroad to experience the new face of artificial intelligence and transportation. At the same time, it shows the service transportation situation of this type of self-driving minibus in the “last step” of the public transportation system and the connection of the exit of the MRT station, furthermore, outlining convenient green energy and actions of the future smart city for Taipei. In addition to the static display of self-driving cars, the self-driving minibus rides in the circle within the scope of the application. The single tour takes about 70 meters and the round trip takes about five minutes. Each ride can take 9-10 passengers. This event successfully attracted the attention of domestic and foreign city and industry representatives and was surprised at the openness of self-driving cars in Taipei City and the new energy of domestic production and learning. Besides, a total of 875 participants and 11 media were involved in the test drive of the self-driving minibus. Successfully received a lot of good feedback. In the future, it will be helpful for the development of self-driving cars in the Taipei City.
