2018 Smart City Expo World Congress
Smart City Expo World Congress (SCEWC) in Barcelona, Spain, originally an international summit discussing the connection between the realization of the city and the technological revolution, since the first session in 2011, each year has the theme of the exhibition and successfully held a number of events, and produced many professional and innovative ideas, and then it has become an internationally representative global exhibition, and it has also become a common concern for many international industries, officials, academia, and research. The 8th SCEWC, held on Nov. 13-15,2018, focuses on five key issues cities are facing: digital transformation, urban environment, smart transportation, finance and management, inclusive and shared cities. The exhibition area is participated by many countries and provides relevant information industry, smart industry, and other related manufacturers to showcase their products and services. It can clearly understand the current situation and trends of smart city promotion in various countries. There is also a conference area in the exhibition area to provide experts and scholars lecturer discussion and communication use. In total, about 844 businessmen participated in the exhibition and up to 60 side events, and successfully attracted more than 700 cities, more than 400 lecturers, about 146 countries and 21,331 participants, an increase of about 14% compared with last year. The crowd of visitors showed that the issue of smart cities continues to be a fever in the world. In the development of smart cities, Taipei is one of the leaders in Asian cities, and it is an indispensable role in smart city exhibitions. Taipei Smart City Project Management Office has participated in the exhibition of the largest smart city exhibition in Taiwan for the second consecutive year (2018), so as to promote Taipei to the international market and let the international know the recent development and achievements of Taipei’s smart city, and then become one of an indicator of international smart cities. In this exhibition, the themed museum of Taipei is used to promote the concept and achievements of Taipei ’s smart city. Partners are also invited to participate in the exhibition and promote Taipei together. It is expected to assist the partners to expand the international market. It is also planned to include the promotion of the 2019 Taipei Smart City exhibition in the booth so that international cities and industries can understand and plan the itinerary of the Taipei Smart City Exhibition next year.
