SMARTCITY TAIPEI

To realize the idea of developing a smart city, the Taipei City government founded the Smart City Committee in 2015. Furthermore, the government established the Taipei Smart City Project Management Office (TPMO) to realize the vision of Taipei Smart City in 2016. To implement the idea, the Department of Information Technology (DoIT) proposed to assist the citizens of Taipei to conduct field experimental PoC programs in Taipei City for potential solutions, and then provide assistance in the development of a smart city industrial business model, expansion of urban and international marketing, and further enactment of "Taipei Smart City Industrial Field PoC Program" to boost communicative output value.

The "Taipei Smart City Industry Field Empirical PoC Program" hopes to help smart cities and IoT-related ecosystems take root in the city and to open up the experimental field of innovative city solutions in Taipei. By opening up smart city-related proposals from the private sector to the city government, the city government can in turn provide those interested with empirical evidence to serve as backup forces, thereby furthering operation models and example experiences. Taipei City Government also hopes to integrate private and public resources and improve municipal construction or related services through the proposal, match-making, and field evidence, so that the city government can take the lead in smart services in this city. 

After receiving the proposals submitted by members of the public, TPMO will conduct discussions on the content of the proposal based on innovation, feasibility, public welfare, and legality. It will conduct an overall assessment for proposals deemed feasible to further confirm the situational plan with the applicants. Vendors submitting the proposal should be a legally established or registered company, legal persons, institutions, groups as well as domestic public and private tertiary institutions or research institutions, etc. The scope of the proposal should apply to projects involving the use of ICT to address, improve or enhance the safety, quality, or effectiveness of the living environment in the Taipei area. Applications include - but are not limited to - smart traffic, transportation, smart energy, smart buildings, space analysis, electronic government, smart disaster prevention, environmental monitoring, smart care, and other public welfare-related applications.

DoIT will work with TPMO to create innovative solutions that will enable you to have an opportunity for conceptual verification in the city through the "Taipei Smart City Industrial Field PoC Program," to create a culture characterized by fearless, innovative, and courageous changes making Taipei a new model for smart cites.
