SMARTCITY TAIPEI

The Taipei City Government Information Bureau and Taipei Smart City Project Office are hosting the "Explore Taipei Smart City - Witness the Birth of a Better City" exhibition at the 1st-floor lobby of the City Hall from July 3rd to July 30th. This exhibition showcases the journey of Taipei City in building a smart city and the various citizen services related to smart applications, using the concept of the river of time. It is held in collaboration with Taipei Flower Company, featuring guided tours, display boards illustrating people's imagination of Taipei Smart City, and welcoming visitors to witness the birth of a better city around us.

With continuous innovation in smart technology, various aspects of citizens' daily lives, such as food, healthcare, housing, transportation, education, and entertainment, witness new developments every day. The main visual concept of this exhibition is presented from a child's perspective, constructing an imaginative view of the future city through objects encountered in daily life. By connecting building blocks with technological blueprints, the scene of Taipei Smart City is shaped from the eyes of children, emphasizing that the development of smart cities not only aims to create a better living environment for the next generation but also seeks to foster an attitude of innovation and fearlessness in the face of challenges, with an open mind towards the future.

The Information Bureau stated that "Taipei Smart City" has been brewing since 2000, starting with the establishment of basic network infrastructure. With technological innovation and evolution, it has gradually developed various daily services for citizens in areas such as food, healthcare, housing, transportation, education, and entertainment. Till today, it continues to progress towards becoming a world-class livable city.

As the beginning of Taiwan's smart cities, Taipei City opened up the entire city as a living laboratory in 2016, gathering various innovative ideas in education, healthcare, transportation, housing, finance, and more, allowing technology to be conceptually verified in the city. The Taipei City Government serves as a platform, constantly striving for innovation and willingly exploring various possibilities.

During the exhibition, guided tours are scheduled every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 3:30 pm to 4:00 pm. Participants who leave a message about their vision of "Taipei Smart City" will receive a beautiful small gift. There will also be exquisite flowers provided by Taipei Flower Marketing Co., Ltd. The exhibition will extend to the "Taipei Theme Hall" of the 2018 Smart Life Software Application Exhibition, presenting a vibrant and dynamic Taipei Smart City. Visitors are welcome to take photos and check-in, making the City Hall and Taipei Theme Hall new hotspots for alternative Facebook and Instagram check-ins this summer.
