To assist wheelchair users in easily planning routes, navigating, andlocating wheelchair-friendly establishments, accessible restrooms, and elevators, the Department of Transportation, Taipei City Government  collaborates with Taiwan BeeMap Technology Co., Ltd. They utilize the "Indoor-Outdoor Real-time Accessibility Travel App" to continually test and optimize cross-building, indoor-outdoor, and multi-floor path planning, as well as real-time navigation features. The app is expected to incorporate WiFi fingerprinting, sensor fusion technology, artificial intelligence, and geographic information systems with algorithms, to rapidly deploy indoor maps main buildings in Taipei and indoor positioning data. This will enable the accessibility travel app to cover both indoor and outdoor paths and provide real-time navigation, ultimately achieving the goal of making barrier-free travel accessible to everyone.
