Taipei City currently has Sightseeing bus and Restaurant bus providing both domestic and international tourists with a more relaxed way to explore Taipei and enjoy its diverse culinary offerings. In order to attract domestic and international tourists to experience technology-driven tourism and to optimize tourism policies through data collection and analysis, as well as to enhance management and operational efficiency,

Collaborating with DE GUANG DIGITAL CO. LTD, the PoC project plans to incorporate augmented reality (AR) visual technology on the double-decker sightseeing buses or double-decker restaurant buses, enriching the immersive experience for passengers. Through the use of the METAGO App, combined with 5G positioning and SLAM AR (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping Augmented Reality) technology, mobile commerce guidance services, virtual-physical integration development, and application deployment will be implemented on the Sightseeing bus and Restaurant bus. This will provide a more enjoyable, digitalized, and gamified experience, further showcasing augmented reality information about Taipei City and enhancing the richness and interactive fun of tourism and dining experiences.
