Building Smart City with IoT Seminar, Nangang City as an Example

TPMO will host “Building Smart City with IoT Seminar, Nangang City as an Example”on August 15th, 2016 in Taipei Computer Association. TPMO interviewed citizens and collected questionnaires to study local needs in Nangang district and proposed smart city solutions aiming on “security”, “national care for elderly and disabled persons”, and “ecological protection” needs. Besides sharing the survey findings with citizens, the purpose of the seminar is also to provide real cases and solutions of smart city. And TPMO invites related industry and companies to share their views. The Project Manager of Taiwan Philips, Chen, Xiao-Shu, will presents innovative intelligent street lamp solution. Besides providing lighting service, a sensor technology enables street lamps to change brightness and colors when accidents or illegal events happen and mark the area to remind passers-by and improve the security quality. In addition, we have President of Lee Way Company, Hong, Pei-Xiu, to share IoT application for elderly healthcare. Combined with the smart healthcare IoT, healthcare big data analysis, and 24-hour instant response center, the company provides a better healthcare service. President Hong suggests that good elderly healthcare service can’t only rely on far-end technologies, onsite care service is also important. Therefore, IoT service should combine physical care service locations to improve the service quality so to decrease the pressure of caregivers. Aiming on the need of ecological protection in Nangang district, TPMO purposes a water quality monitoring solution, we invites President of HT Green Technology, Lin, Zheng-Xiang, to share the case of using UAV for water quality monitoring. Through the combination of multi-axis remote control flight sampler and satellite positioning, wireless instant images can be interpreted and further for the user to establish a cloud database. Finally, using the big data analysis enhances the effectiveness of ecological protection.
